Ready-to-Read is an early literacy program that aims to get books into the homes of local families with young children. Ready-to-Read was started in 2011-2012 as a community learning initiative project, and then run by the Annual Community Events Staff (ACES) in 2012-2013.  For each of the past two years, the program has provided a new age-appropriate book for every pre-k and kindergarten student at Kennelly School (located about one mile south of Trinity). This year a new student organization—Project PACKS—is continuing the program with the same goals, and that is where you come in!

We are seeking donations of either money or books.  If you wish to purchase a book yourself, Kennelly School has identified the following books as desired:

Pre-kindergarten (18):
1.  Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault
2.  Miss Wishy Washy’s Farmby by Joy Cowley

Kindergarten (69):
1.  The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
2.  The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn,
3.  Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin
Donations are due by April 9, 2014.  If you have any questions, need more information, and/or would like to learn more about Project PACKS (Providing Academic Change for Kindling Students), please contact Julia Duggan at or Alex Suarez at
Thanks in advance for your support!
