Old friends and new: we invite you to experience the mindblowing images and sound of Dunkirk on 70mm film at Cinestudio! With the number of grand – and great-grandparents who fought in World War II diminishing, Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight) preserves one of their unforgettable stories of resilience against overwhelming odds. In 1940, over 400,000 French, British and Belgian soldiers were trapped on the French coast by German forces. In this film epic, Nolan shows three interwoven viewpoints: soldiers waiting on the beach, the RAF trying to hold off German attacks, and, incredibly, the flotilla of fishing boats, ferries and pleasure craft that left Britain and crossed the treacherous Channel to save lives. 106 min.

“Dunkirk is not a story of triumph, but one of living to fight another day, with a little help from our friends…you disappear inside of it and it changes you, as all great movies do.” – Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times.
